The first Pallium Learning Essential Approaches to Palliative and End of Life Care (LEAP) courses in Niagara Hamilton and Haldimand Norfolk Brant were offered in 2009. The Network and Division of Palliative Care, McMaster University, are planning to offer it again this year. This course is offered in the HNHB community 3 times per year. The 2 day LEAP course offers an opportunity for active learning about current best-practice in caring for patients with life-threatening and life-limiting illness, with a special focus on family practice and community settings.

A Long-Term Care Focus has been added to this Hamilton course. This course will be of interest to health professionals (i.e. physicians, nurses, case managers, social workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, pharmacists) working with or in long-term care homes.
